TrustEd Launches Train-the-Trainer to Build Local Capacity and Support Young People
Colorado-based participants are eligible for a $500 mini-grant to support local training
COLORADO — Jan. 30, 2026 – TrustEd announced the launch of its free, interactive Building Trusted Relationships Train-the-Trainer workshop, designed to prepare participants to confidently deliver the youth-informed training in their own communities. As an added incentive, participants in Colorado are eligible to receive a $500 mini-grant upon completion of the post-training survey to support local implementation.
The two-hour, interactive session provides participants with the tools, practice and feedback needed to facilitate the Building Trusted Relationships training with fidelity to core messages while adapting examples, discussions and activities to meet local needs. The session is designed for professionals who provide training to educators, school staff, youth-serving professionals, and parents/caregivers of young people age 11-24.
“The Building Trusted Relationships Train-the-Trainer session focuses on building local capacity,” said Anais Murphy, Senior Manager, Mental Health and Wellness at Action for Healthy Kids. “We know that access to trusted adults is a protective factor against many risky behaviors, including vaping. This training gives adults what they need to be that support for young people.”
Through engaging scenarios, guided practice and real-time feedback, participants learn how to model the Trusted Adult Principles, effectively engage adult learners and support others in building meaningful, protective relationships with youth.
“At a time when young people are facing unprecedented mental health challenges, we have to expand access to solutions that work,” said Rob Bisceglie, Chief Executive Officer at Action for Healthy Kids. “By equipping leaders to deliver this training in their communities, we’re scaling a proven, practical approach that strengthens protective factors for young people and helps reduce risky behaviors before they start.”
The training sessions are designed to help participants:
Explain and teach the connection between youth vaping, mental health and trusted adult relationships
Coach others to identify and practice strategies for building trusted adult relationships in their communities
Adapt and deliver the Building Trusted Relationships training with fidelity to core messages while tailoring examples and discussions to local context
The Building Trusted Relationships Train-the-Trainer session is free to attend and provides a practical, scalable way for organizations and communities to strengthen prevention, promote youth well-being and build healthier, more supportive environments for young people.
