Between 2012 and 2016, AFHK worked with 20 Chicago Public Schools to use AFHK’s Game On program as a three-year model for school-level wellness programming and district-level policy implementation. The combination of strong wellness policies, a district-wide campaign for policy implementation, and AFHK’s Game On program proved to be a powerful trifecta to guide schools in building a strong school wellness infrastructure, engaging parents and the community, and, ultimately, in facilitating local and national recognition for the schools’ health and wellness efforts.
