Materials to Get your Game in Gear
Announcement Flyer Template – Customize the pre-designed flyer with your school name, event location, date and time. Then, send the flyer home with students or distribute to parent and community groups to recruit them to participate with your students.
Press Release Template – Customize the pre-written press release with your event location and contact information. Distribute to local media outlets to enhance the visibility of your schools’ Wellness Policy and Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge event.
Signage - These signage templates can be used in a variety of ways. All signage components are downloadable and can be customized to fit your event. Each signage component is available in MS Word and PDF format with the exception of the banner. The MS Word files can be customized on your computer while the PDF files are for handwritten customization.

Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge In Action
Challenge Course Guide - Included in the Challenge Course Guide is information about the equipment needed, how-to set up the course activity stations, recommendations for participant age range, coordinating event volunteers, and course logistics. In addition, this segment includes a step-by-step execution of each activity station of the course with detailed instructions and suggested course lay-outs.
Course Map - The course map provides a visual diagram for how a Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge course can look. The layout of activity stations depicted on the course map is for suggestion purposes only. The course can be customized to accommodate for the space available at your school or community site.
Tools for Success - The Tools for Success supports the Challenge Course Guide by providing suggestions for the nutrition and physical activity components of Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge. This supplement includes specific tips for each activity station and instructions for volunteer station leaders on how to communicate nutrition and physical activity concepts to students and participants in a way they can easily understand.
Adult Sign-up Sheet - Students use the Adult Sign-Up sheet to recruit parents, teachers, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, grandparents, community or youth group leaders, pediatricians, coaches, principals, and other adults to participate in your schools’ Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge.
Energy In – Energy Out Trackers - Using these trackers, students can “keep score” of their healthy eating and physical activity each day. Students can use either The Rookie Tracker, or the more advanced version, The Veteran Tracker. Hand out to students in preparation for Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge or after the event to encourage them to pay closer attention to their healthy habits year round.
Certificate of Participation – In Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge, participation is rewarded over performance. Use the template certificate to recognize all participants. Print certificates and insert participants’ names.
4. Food and Fitness for your Best Game
Resource Lists – These lists outline suggested websites and organizations that schools, communities, students and parents can turn to for more information on healthy lifestyles including sound nutrition and increased physical activity. Download the Resource Lists in full color or black and white reproducible formats. Distribute to students, families, teachers, and school staff and leaders at your Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge event and throughout the school year.

Wellness Fact Sheet for Parents – Distribute this fact sheet, developed with the National PTA, to parents on the day of your Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge event. As schools enact Wellness Policies, a fantastic opportunity is presented to connect parents and families with school wellness! This fact sheet informs and invites parents to get involved to help schools implement plans for improving nutrition and physical activity during the school day.

5. Beyond Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge
Beyond Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge – This resource demonstrates how students can use the “Energy In – Energy Out” Trackers from the Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge Toolkit to measure their healthy food choices and physical activity over the course of a few weeks, months, or the whole school year. These Trackers, taken from Action for Healthy Kids’ ReCharge! Energizing After-school program, can be used in combination with other nationally reputable programs from our partner organizations. Be committed to your school’s wellness practices – even after your event concludes.
