IA School Wellness Forum
Iowa Partners: Action for Healthy Kids held an Iowa School Wellness Forum on Wednesday, November 13th at the Grimes State Office building in Des Moines. The forum highlighted the academic benefits of a healthy school environment, shared programs that generate excitement about healthy schools and provided an opportunity for professionals to network about child wellness.

Action for Healthy Kids: Share Healthy Foods and Physical Activity Presentation
- A 10-15 minutes presentation for parents and other school stakeholders to use in their communities to build awareness, support, and momentum for creating healthier school environment. Registration is required to download the slides.
- Presentation by Ruth Litchfield PhD, RD, about enhancing academic success through healthy school environments.
- Presentation by Amanda Miller, Angie Mitchell and Carrie Scheidel from the Iowa Department of Education about the new meal pattern, school wellness policies, and resources for schools to promote school meals.
