See Two Tabs – Eat Better and More Move
In each of the four time slots, you will see two tabs: Eat Better and Move More. Game On! is all about helping schools focus on easy ways to add nutrition and physical activity into the day. Make sure you look at both the Eat Better and Move More Challenge Tabs on all the time slots (Before-, During-, After-School, and At-Home). Game On! offers over thirty-five (35) challenge ideas. Based on over two years of pilot research, you should find challenges that work best in your school environment.
Notice the Intensity Levels
Within each time slot, each challenge has been tagged with Low, Medium, or High Intensity labels to help you determine how and where you might be able to fit in a challenge. If you need some more help, check out the sample calendars created to give you a jump start.
| low intensity | These challenges are no- to very-low-cost, and usually can be implemented in a day with very little planning or teamwork. |
| medium intensity | Medium challenges do require some planning, a little prep work, and a few team members. Preparation time is generally from 3 to 15 hours…but the results last for generations. |
| high intensity | High intensity challenges require the most effort. Some do cost a couple hundred dollars. Most require a pretty significant amount of planning time, a solid, committed group of team members, and several volunteers for implementation. These challenges, while a bit overwhelming at first, have the greatest impact on student health and learning. |
