Sponsor/Exhibit at the Georgia School Wellness Summit

Georgia Action for Healthy Kids, Georgia Department of Community Health, Division of Public Health, Georgia Department of Education and Georgia Coalition for Physical Activity and Nutrition, invite you to support the upcoming 2010 School Wellness Summit titled, School Wellness: the Cornerstone of Academic Achievement.  This event will be held March 12-13, 2010 at the University of Georgia Conference Center in Athens, Georgia.   

Healthy students learn better.  But schools need the resources to help create a healthy school environment.  Georgia Action for Healthy Kids and all of its partners are excited to host this first of its kind in the state of Georgia!  Key leaders responsible for developing and implementing nutrition and physical activity priorities for schools have collaborated together to help create healthy students that perform better academically and are absent less often.  Through Action for Healthy Kids initiatives, resources are being pooled together to more efficiently give schools the tools they need to create a healthier school environment.  This summit is the first step.     

The Summit will draw an estimated attendees consisting of school superintendents, principals, health and physical education teachers, school nurses, school nutrition managers, students, parents and community leaders throughout the state of Georgia.  Throughout the summit, attendees will hear exciting speakers and participate in interactive educational sessions with the goal of providing knowledge, tools and resources to aid in promoting health and wellness within Georgia schools.

The success of this event is dependent on financial and in-kind support from partner organizations and those who share a common interest in the health and wellness of Georgia’s youth.  Please consider the sponsorship opportunities.
